How to Use Wegovy Safely

Wegovy® is simple to use and comes in a pre-filled pen for self-injection once a week. It should be injected subcutaneously into one of the following areas:


Abdomen: Avoid injecting too close to the belly button
Thigh: Outer thigh is commonly used
Upper Arm: Best used if someone assists with the injection

Always rotate the injection site each week to prevent skin irritation. Avoid injecting into bruised, sore, or swollen areas. Used pens should be safely disposed of in a sharps bin as directed.

Side Effects of Wegovy

Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription weight loss injection. Like all medications, it may cause side effects, most of which are mild and temporary as your body adjusts. Common side effects include:
